My Story
Hello! My name is Hayden Austin, and I’m from Fargo, North Dakota. I am currently in my fourth year at North Dakota State University, and am majoring in Journalism with a minor in Visual Arts.
Over the past few years, I’ve been able to contribute my photography skills to multiple organizations, which include the animal rescue my family and I volunteer with, Retrieve a Golden of the Midwest, and the occasional portrait photo session. During my time in high school, I have done work with my high school’s yearbook doing sports photography and served as their sports editor. I also served as our school’s girls’ basketball media manager. Recently, I have been continuing my sports photography work with North Dakota State University’s student-run newspaper, The Spectrum, and serving as the main in-house photographer for the F-M RedHawks for the 2022 season. My most recent work experience is interning for North Dakota State University Athletics with their multi-media department.
My passion for photography started when I got my first camera just about eight years ago. Ever since, my love for photography has only grown. Having the opportunities to make new connections with others through photography has been an extremely rewarding experience. Being able to capture moments that most people overlook by telling a story through them is the main reason I have continued to pursue photography, as it is a form of art that means a lot to me.
